Is there a pot luck or a group breakfast? Just checking to see if we need to bring anything special?

| We're not that organized yet. Do you want to make the arrangements? You might as well jump in the deep end. Just kidding. I'll take care of it, but am open to any suggestions.

Everyone,
Billie and I spent the past 4-day week-end at Kartchner and it was great.
One thing that we did that was a lot of fun was a mini-wine tour of the Elgin wineries. We went to 3 wineries in the little town of Elgin. Each winery is different and charges a $1, $3 or $6dollar tasting fee (the $3 & $6 tastings included a nice wine glass for the keeping). Oh yeah, we bought 6 bottles of wine too! This would be a nice afternoon trip for those interested. We could do cheese, crackers and share some wines.
We also did a 1/2 mile trail (easy trail for those not wanting a strenuos hike) from the campgrounds to the lower part of the fountain loop, around to the discovery area and back into the campground. A nice trek each afternoon. The wild life was also out. I saw a few deer each morning on my walk & coffee.
The west campground loop was open and I scouted out a few sites that looked good for the get-together (tables located centrally between the sites). These were around site 26-28. This loop is located against the Whetstone's. The east loop also had some good sites located at the end of the loop that would be great to grab. As Ken's noted the campground is first come-first serve, but the park is never full and always has plenty of sites.
See ya in Feb '06,
Olan & Billie

We'll miss you.
Some comments about the outing. Open fires are not allowed at the CG. Anyone that can bring a propane fireplace would be my best friend for the weekend.
I'm thinking that we should have potlucks for Saturday dinner and Sunday Brunch.
I didn't know that this would be superbowl weekend when we scheduled the outing. Should not be a problem to break camp in time to get back home for the game if you are inclinded.

Ken,
Looks like kick-off is at 6PM. Plenty of time to get home and catch the game.
I was kinda hoping for Denver (Jake Plumber) and the Panthers, but that didn't happen. With the Panthers out of it Billie probably won't want to sit through it (she's from Charlotte).
I'm signing up for hamburgers and buns with a good dutch oven desert. If someone can help out with condiments, I'll bring plenty of hamburgers for everyone.
See ya there,
Olan

Tom,
Thanks!! Can I turn the propane up and down when I get the urge to play with the fire?
Sounds like Sunday night is going to be another night of fun. I'll see if we can stay over. We can have a Superbowl night!!
See ya,
Olan

| You can turn up the propane, but I will have to ask you to refrain from using the fire place tools. This fire won't need to be stirred. (HA-HA)

itsrip: Glad you can make it. Looking forward to seeing new people.
Olan: Maybe we can find something to put on the flames to make more smoke so it can get in our eyes.

Trying to figure out the best way get from here to there.
Has any one driven US191 from St. Johns down to near Safford?
Is it any worse or better than driving US 60 from ShowLow to Globe and over to Safford? I have driven this stretch so I know what it is like.
US191 is a straighter run, doesn't go west to east and back so much but I don't know the road condition, up, down, whinding or straight.
