Lorraine and I are planning our next get away between August 24, 2007 thru Labor Day.     The past two years we have been at Winchester Bay RV Marina in Oregon.  We are planning on going there again this year.

If any of you Nash or Artic Fox owners are planning to be there or close by,  let us know.  Would love to meet individuals I have chatted with on this forum.

We're picking up our 27-5L at Guaranty RV in Junction City on August 8. Not sure yet if we're going to head north or south after that (we're watching the weather) but if we head south, we may stop in there for a day or two.

We may be there or nearby.  If we're in that area in the summer months we usually end up a few hundred feet across the bay at Salmon Harbor Marina (also owned and operated by the county that operates Winchester Bay RV Ressort).  No hookups but it's $12 a day or $72 a week vs $36 a day at the RV Resort,  it's closer to the boats in the Marina, and no reservations needed.  I'll put a note on my calendar to let you know if we'll be there when I have a better idea as we usually plan about 3 days ahead.  Here's a picture from when we were there last week.

Tom,

Wish we were heading up your way.  The photo looks quite nice - right on the ocean!!  Unfortunately, job and family committments will keep us down in Southern CA for Labor Day Weekend:(.  We plan to visit Lake Cachuma, near the "Danish" town of Solvang, inland of Santa Barbara.  That will be only the 2nd trip with our recently acquired 2003 Nash 5er.  The farthest North we have RV'd is Klamath Falls.  Two years ago, towed our older trailer there to visit the son of an elderly neighbor we keep an eye on.

Are you happy with your 22H?  Like you, would love to meet some fellow Northwood owners!!  The people on this forum seem very nice and quite knowledgeable.  I have been reading a lot of posts, even older ones, and I have seen your postings frequently.  Very nice of you to be so helpful to others.

Hope you enjoy your stay at Winchester Bay!

Best regards,

Tom G

Medina Lake, in Lakehills TX, until Sep 5, then it's over to Lake Conroe, North of Houston, for a couple of weeks...  Then back to Medina for a month, then to Verde Valley, AZ and Las Vagas for a few weeks...  (have family in Boulder City, NV)...  After that not sure...  Think I'll spend the winter on the Texas Gulf Coast this year.  Maybe in the Rock Port, Fulton, Port Aransas area, but I'm still debating with myself....

Next spring it's off to the great Northwest for the entire spring and summer...  can't wait!

Anyway, wherever Labor Day finds y'all this year...  have a great time!!!

Tom G,

We have been to Solvang many times (stayed at the The Flags in Buerton)

http://www.flyingflags.com/

and have visited Los Angeles area many times in the pass many years.  Big difference now is it is without kids.

We traveled and wore out  two Van Conversion between 1981 and 2002,  when our daughters were very young.   Now they are 29 and 24th...and they do not want to travel with mom and I,   in 2005 we purchase an Fleetwood Evolution Tent Trailer and travel all over Oregon and California on Weekends and about 6 one week vacations a year.

We love our 2007 22H in January (we love it because I can tow it easily with  my GMC Sierra 1/2 Ton) and have had it out about 9 times already.  Here are the places we stayed for your information:

1.  Twice at Santa Cruz Ranch RV (Scotts Valley, Ca): http://www.santacruzranchrv.com/id5.html

2.  Our 2nd Annual Trip on Memorial Day Weekend in Winchester Bay RV Resort:  http://www.marinarvresort.com/default.htm  (Next year we have 7 Rigs going up).  Reedsport has a great celebration.

3.   One week at Coyote Valley RV Resort in Morgan Hill (San Jose Area): http://www.coyotevalleyresort.com/

4.  Two trip to Feather Falls Casino KOA: http://www.koa.com/where/ca/05441/

5.  One trip to Rio Viento on Sherman Island in the Delta:  http://www.rioviento.com/

6. Two trips to Delta RV Marina (this will probably be our quick get-a-way spot).  Was there this weekend and just got home:  See pictures from RV site below:

 http://www.deltamarina.com/pages/3/index.htm

We have not confirmed our Vacation for the week before Labor Day:

Leg 1: August 22nd thru 26th:  Premier RV Resort Salem:  http://www.premierrvresorts.com/

Leg 2: August 26 thru 31st:  Winchester Bay RV Marina

Leg 3: Homeward bound,  Staying two night and steelhead fishing in Northern California at Klamath Coral:  http://www.rvdestinations.com/campercorral/

Tom,

Thanks so much for taking the time to list the places you have been!!  Greatly appreciated!!  Especially nice that you have included the web sites so that my wife and son and I can check them out.  Two friends who have 5th wheels have been to one spot you mentioned - Flying Flags in Buelton, and they really liked it.  Will have to check it out.  Looks like you have been getting your money's worth out of the new TT.

Are the photos at the bottom of your last post from Winchester also?  Very nice looking area.

Hope you and your wife enjoy your next trip!!!

Thanks again for the great information.

Tom G

23rd through the 2nd I will be playing with little sticks and chasing elk all over the place in hopes of actually getting close enough to do some fatal damage. Nothing like a week and a half with good friends at elk camp.....

The pictures are from our trip this weekend to the Delta Marina RV.  It is located on the Sacramento River, 1/2 mile down river from the Rio Vista Bridge.  It is where Humphrey the Whale was and also most recently Delta and Dawn got lost.  The URL is: http://www.deltamarina.com/pages/3/index.htm

My original post above is in Winchester Bay,   site # 60.  We will be site #59 starting on August 26th.

Here is the Aerial View of the park from their website,  I have indicate location of site #60 on the map.

Hey Tom,

When you are chasing those crafty critters called Elk, are you using the SHARP pointy sticks or the ones with the big SUCTION cups? ;):P;):D  Just started chasing those craft critters called Mule Deer and then the GO Fast, Disappearie I (Goats, aka Antelope) with SHARP POINTY STICKS, down here, from Aug 11 thru Sept 5 for both crafty critters.  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don.

Well Cathy and I will be somewhere along the Missisippi Gulf Coast. We make a "Anniversary weekend Getaway" each year by ourselves. (Well we do MOST years) Our 27th was Aug. 16th. So we are gonna hook-up and hop in Friday morning after our youngest who is the only one still living at home gets on the school bus and head-out. (Ashley will stay with my parents for the weekend)

Cathy has wanted to go see the coast since Katrina, but I have stalled her due to the area not needing "Gawkers". I kept the road hot between here and there for several months after the storm with recovery/rebuilding stuff. So I KNOW what it looked like and what the damage was. I figure it has been long enough that takin a "Gawker" won't be a problem.

Besides, I know all the good places to park the rig with no hookups (Dry campin) so we have "Privacy".
