Hello Adam,

I just reserved site 43 and "the check is in the mail" for the  2009 rally registration. Ignore my PS; about not being able to log in.

Bubba and I are looking forward to the Rally !

PS: I retired at the end of the year so I would be interested in hearing from the full timers or long term travelers-where to go, how to pay bills, possible groups to join, etc. Anyone interested in hosting a session?

Greetings from Houston, Texas.

We were planning to come northwest for the summer when we saw the e-mail about this rally. We have never been to one, but have owned our Fox 29V since Nov of 2004.  We will make this rally, and have sent back the e-mail to Adam with the required info. The $15 check is "in the mail". We will be in site #6. Looking forward to the factory tour, and meeting with all the people there.

Dutch and Sandy Dinwiddie

Houston, TX

:) One of our members, Dutch (Duane) who is attending the Rally offered to put on a class on Dutch oven cooking so here is his email. I will be adding this to Saturdays schedule to start at 4:30 outside of the community building.

I noticed that you have a contest about camp cooking of desserts.  If you are interested, Sandy and I would be happy to give a class on Dutch oven cooking, perhaps Saturday afternoon.  We are two time state grand champions of Texas in Dutch oven cooking competitions, and have taught many classes in the past.  For ref see http://www.lsdos.com/outdoor.html

We would be happy to do an introductory Dutch oven cooking session/class for anyone who might be interested. We enjoy teaching and introducing people to this fun hobby. It would be a combination of talking and discussion with the people there, and also actual cooking demonstrations of various types of dishes at the same time. The class would be aimed at beginners, but we would be very happy to follow up with a question and answer session for both beginners and experienced cooks. My specialty is yeast breads of all kinds, and desserts, all baked directly in the Dutch ovens. Sandy is very good with recipes of all kinds in the ovens.
In addition, we'll bring a DVD of our 2007 Alaska trip in case anyone has any interest in such a trip. We pulled the Fox 13,500 miles on that trip in about 12 weeks.   Dutch

It's time to start building the 2008 Rally Slide Show.

I need copies of all the pictures I can get taken at the 2008 rally in LaGrande.  I can use all the help I can get!

I would also like to include a picture of everyone attending the 2009 Rally - so if you are planning to attend please send me a picture of you and your rig.

You can send them electronically to n7hwj@comcast.net or snail mail them to:

Bill Zawlocki

Thanks,
Bill

Hey,  not sure what is going on, been on the road for 2 weeks and, my GPS gismo says were not getting any closer.  Mary is doing the navigation and I keep seeing signs like this.

Mary does keep saying we not driving thry Kansas.

Anybody got a map.   Probably a good thing we left early.

Woody, if you're on R-66, coming from W. Virginia, you're getting closer...  a lot closer.

See ya in La Grande...  (in the Spring!)... which apparently happens in June, or maybe July, around here...

We followed this bird for a while.

And yes this shot is thru the windshield.
No critters were harmed in the filming.

2nd Call:  It's time to start building the 2008 Rally Slide Show - time is running short - the slide show normally takes me about 2-3 weeks to build so I need your photos!

If you've got any pictures of last years Rally - I would greatly appreciate a copy.

Also I need pictures of YOU.  If you don't have a photo of both you and your trailer, send me two photos - I'll make it work.  In fact, some folks have done that and I think in many respects that is actually better.

You can send them electronically to n7hwj@comcast.net or snail mail them to:

Bill Zawlocki

Thanks,
Bill

Hey Nickel & Pepper

What kind of "GUIDE" bird did you have there, it appears to be a Black Raven?  Just riding the bow wave, saves flapping your wings!

Neat picture, I have had Ravens do this when in Easten Oregon and 1 time when going East on Hwy 50 out of Austion, NV.

Your right, raven was riding bow wave from point to point in painted desert.   The bird rode the wave for quite some distance.  Made this image a lot easer to get than it appeared.

;) I just thought you were talking about the dreaded dead zone!

Now more seriously I need to announce that while you can schedule right up to the day of the rally to come and it will be no problem. I still have some cut off dates for stuff. So here they are.

MAY 26th

Is the cut off date for receiving your check and form if you want a rally tee shirt and fancy wood name tag as this is the date I have to turn all the orders in to give them time to get them done. Anyone who signs up after this date I am sorry but I will not be able to provide you with either but of course you are still welcome to come and join in all the activities. :)

JUNE 10th

Will be the cut off date to mail in your payment & form  After that just bring both with you and turn them into me at the RV park.

Adam - I just signed up with Hot Lakes, they assigned me site #45.  Check and registration form are in the mail.

I'm really looking forward to meeting lots of Northwoods owners.  This will be my first NROA Rally, in fact my first trip to Oregon!  I'll be leaving AZ the end of May and will wind my way north.  Have an appointment with the factory morning of 6/22 and then on to having fun.

Pat
