Outstanding rally! Thank you to all of those who put it together! We enjoyed making new friends and hope to keep up with them. It was great to put faces with all of those names we've come to know on this site. We learned a lot and got some great tips. Maybe we'll even try some dutch oven cooking soon.

Since Jackie has won the "big prize" the past two years, I promise not to bring her next year.....She will remain at home buying lottery tickets during this week.
Another great time even without the thunder storms.

I second and third the above. We had a great time, will plan on returning next year and being able to stay through the bar b que. The tour was great, the people we met were great, especially Adam, Richard and Sharon aka dustymax, Ted and Sonia aka n7myn, Bob Bow aka bobbow, and nickel&pepper. Anyone interested in a fly fishing afternoon or morning next year, let me know. We can scout out some spots ahead of time and then go drown some flys.
Adam, you did great. All your work and preparations that you and Jill did and your daughter for her work with the camera, was greatly appreciated. Without you guys, this wouldn't fly.
Travel safe.

Fabulous rally
Just fabulous... Had a wonderful time... and I can't believe how it flew by. Seems like it was Monday just a few hours ago! Now here it is, Sunday and it's over
Met so many great folks there's no way to list everyone, but from me to y'all, thanks for all the hospitality...
- Factory tours were out of this world. Everyone at the plant was soooooo nice!!!
- Meeting Ron Nash - a great experience
- Golf ---- Wow!!! But I only put 1 ball in the water, and ONLY lost 6 others - Jeez)
- Potluck supper - Delicious
- Wine tasting was a lot of fun - Especially after I got into Woody's Peach 'lemonade'
- Ron and the gang's BBQ - Super great
- Sitting in the evenings swapping lies - Doesn't get any better. Just a great time!
But it wore some of us out... (like me)...

...more than others (like him - Bo's a real rally fan now)
Thanks again, and see y'all next year!

Just pulled in our yard about 7pm after leaving the Rally at about 10am.
Wanted to add our "Thank You" to Adam, Donna, and Katie and all the others who helped put on the Rally.
Met new friends, renewed old friendships, great time!
Can't wait for next year

Ok, I have been corrected. Adam's other life wife was Jill, his current life wife is Donna. I will remember that....I hope.

What a great time! Thanks Adam and Donna and to all who helped out! We already have it marked on our calendar for next year! We made it home late Sunday night after a delay to change a blowout on I5 through Salem but that's another story. See you all next year!

Wednesday night brought our annual meet and greet around the fire. Adam went over a few points with everyone, and then each group introduced themselves with names, handles on the forum, and what state they were from. We had another great group this year, and had members from such places such as Texas, West Virgina, British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, California and returning members from Kansas City! We all had a chance to visit for a while, and some even managed to make a few smore's disappear!
Thursday morning started all the classes, and we started with a Wildlife talk with local Kathy Norwak. She showed a presentation of the local wildlife which was very informative. We learned there are many many kinds of birds in the area, along with frogs, fish, elk, deer, butterflies, bats, and she even showed a large cougar print.
Kathy did a great job, and it was obvious that she loves her job.
Our next class started right afterwards, and it was Plug-it-right with Di and Dutch. They have attended our rally before and have become just like family. They went over their stabilizer system, and had some drawings with 4 or 5 winners. We were really glad to have them back this year. Maybe we can talk them into purchasing the AF36-5V!!!
At 1pm started a factory tour of Northwood followed by a couple classes (Alpha rubber roofs, Power Gears slide outs) and a question and answer period the info on this will be posted sepertly under the proper heading. (LINK TO RUBBER ROOF AND SLIDE OUT NOTES AS WELL AS Q&A PERIOD)
At 7pm that evening we had a great turn-out for Bill, Mary, Jay and Jacqueline wine tasting event. They had a nice selection of wines, and many glasses were filled....and filled again......=)
Bill also showed the DVD's that he has made of previous rally's. One of 2003 to 2007, and then a new one from last years attendees along with a few members that sent in their pictures. It was obvious that a lot of hours were put into these DVD's.They even made several copies and passed them out. Thank you again for doing this.
After wine tasting and DVD several people met out at the fire, and had a great time chatting. Some pretty happy from all the wine tasting!! =) We managed to find a few more s'more fixings, and everyone had a great time.
Friday morning started with a class from AM Solar on inverters. They covered modified sine wave vs pure sine wave, appropriate ventilation when installing, and selecting the correct inverter for what you are trying to accomplish, and so much more. The whole class was very informative, and hopefully provided some answers for those using inverters. (LINK TO AM SOLAR CLASS NOTES)
1pm all the golfers got together at Bufflo Peak golf course in Union. If I understood right about 11 of them, and it sounds like they had a great time. Thankfully shotgun was NOT wearing the kilt for this event...!
While the guys golfed several ladies met in the building for Mrs. Shotguns no sew throw class. She showed everyone how to make a lap blanket without sewing. We used very soft material, and after putting fringe type cuts all round we tied the 2 layers together. It made for a very nice lap throw. Thank you Jill!!!
One of our main events at the rally each year is the pot luck dinner on friday night. There is always a great turn out for this event, and I don't think anyone goes away hungry! When Adam called time to line up, I think the line could have gone clear around the building!!
The owners of the campground Jim and Margee even came down, and joined in. Several decorated their trailers, and the judging came after pot luck. We had trailers decorated with Elvis, a 4th of July theme, Race day, Bill's cat house, A Saloon, and one with a weather station which included a rock hanging from a string that said "if it's wet it's raining, if it's white it's snowing" ....you get the idea. There was one decorated with a Scottish kilt....I wonder if Mrs. Shotgun did this so it couldn't be worn!!?! Anyway the winner went to Bill and Mary Z for "Bill's cat house" and it was actual cats (the kind that meow) everywere!
The prize for the dessert bake-off went to csaunders for her no bake camper cookies. They were so good, and I think enough people asked her to post it, that we just might find it on the site soon!
Jill did a special presentation of awards. There were all kinds of prizes from oldest trailer, and the prize was a grow it yourself dinasour. She handed out a prize for who traveled the farthest, one was for her favorite dog in camp, and of course she gave a bone to Snickers the wonder dog too so she wouldn't get in trouble!! One prize was for maiden voyage, and another for most well lit trailer. The prizes were pretty funny! The winner for the Golf contest was anounced as well with Jayboy taking the honers. He was presented with the Golden Club award which was a left handed jr. driver with a yellow grip!! It was great entertainment.
Saturday morning ladies gathered in the building to work on any craft projects they might have. We ended up with 3 or so people crocheting, one knitting, one doing counted cross stitch, and yet another working on a quilt. It's always fun to see what everyone else is working on, and get new ideas. Some patterns were shared, but mostly lots of visiting.
At the same time as the crafting there were several that got together for geo-caching lesson. Shotgun did the annual poker run. Each member had to find 5 different caches, and take an envelope from each. Once they were all done all of them got together and opened one envelope at a time revealing the poker hand they had. The winner was announced, and it just happen to be ADAM! He opened 3 aces in a row! Then followed with an 8 and 2. His price was a set of Square bob Sponge pants playing cards!
About 11:30 employees from Northwood started to show up, and get things set up. They had a prize table outside for the raffle, and were also giving away hats. Lunch was roasted chicken, bbq ribs, potato salad, macaroni salad, rolls, and beans. Once again I don't think anyone walked away hungry! Northwood always provides a very nice lunch for everyone.
Afterwards the raffle started with a presentation to Adam for all his hard work. They gave him a giant check for plane rental time. He ought to have fun with that! There were all kinds of prizes for the raffle, patio mats, organizers, lantern clocks, lounge chairs, and even a H.D. tv which went to Jackie Yakes. Very nice!
When they were done Adam presented Ron Nash with a thank you card that had been signed by all, and a copy of Bill and Mary's DVD was included. We really do appreciate the Nash'es for all they do for us.
And the day wasn't over yet!!! At 4:30 the Dinwiddies put on a Dutch oven class. We had yet another great turn-out for this......maybe it was because there were samples!! Just kidding it was great to learn the in's and out's of using these. You can actually make just about anything.
At 7 we met in the building for movie night. Several volunteers took bags of popcorn to their trailers to pop, and then we put them into the boxes, so it was like going to a movie house! We watched The Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Even though we showed this movie 2 years ago, it still brings laughs! I'm sure we can all relate to all the mishaps they have with their trailer!
Sunday morning brought our last time to gether for the year. The annual pot luck breakfast. Our group was much smaller as some had to get on the road early, but we had a great assortment of breakfast goodies, and everyone got to start their trek home with a full stomach.
After all is said and done we would just like to thank everyone who came, those who helped by volunteering, wether they signed up or just jumped in, and just let you know that we had a great time meeting everyone! Some of you come year after year, and this event is more like a family reunion! Many Many Thanks to our R.V. family! =-)

Mrs. Adam -
What a great write-up! Nicely done. The links to the notes are super as well as the pics. It's a fantastic finale and memorial to the rally.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to put that post together - we appreciate you for doing it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first NROA rally and want to send a special thanks to Adam, his family and the other individuals responsible for one terrific rally. Adam, your time, effort and dedication to the NROA is greatly appreciated.
After leaving Eagles Hot Lake RV Park Monday morning, we spent several days at both Memaloose and Ft Stevens State Parks before heading home to Puyallup.

We also greatly enjoyed the rally. We went from the rally to Lake Wallowa after leaving La Grande, and went up the tram to the top of the mountain... spectacular! The we drove Hell's canyon, and now understand it's name. We have spent the last few days in Corvallis, OR. It is quite beautiful here. Today we will head toward Mt St Helens and then Mt Ranier. After that we will wander north, probably into Canada for a bit until we drift down onto the Olympic Penninsula in NW Washington to visit friends.
We enjoyed meeting all the new people at the rally, and enjoyed passing on some Dutch oven cooking tips. Next year we will probably cover the eastern seaboard all the way to Nova Scotia. After that, who knows. Perhaps we will come west again to another rally. We both really like the Pacific Northwest. Until later, Dutch and Sandy Dinwiddie.

Greetings to All from Lochsa2 in Missoula, MT
We've returned home from our first 5 week vacation in the 27.5L and are very happy with the coach. It suits our needs perfectly! Our 4th week of vacation was attending the Rally in LaGrande and what a wonderful experience. Meeting so many people and making new friends, plus all the wonderful events to attend was more than we expected as "newbies" to the Northwood Family.
Adam and his family did an outstanding job developing a fun filled four days. Thank you all! The classes were very interesting. Tom and I especially enjoyed touring both factorys. Meeting the real Ron Nash family was a highlight! What an interesting and gracious family! We also want to thank Matt (Northwood Factory) and his staff for the most outstanding Customer Service we've seen in many years.
Collectively, The Nashs', Matt and Adam did a wonderful job in the rally and in accommodating our needs. The BBQ was delicious and the prizes for the drawings were wonderful. I'm certain there were many folks working with those mentioned and a special thank-you to all! We need to know the dates of the Rally next year as it's an affair we don't want to miss. Danna and Tom Pettigrew
