OK Folks, here is your chance to have some extra fun during the rally. We will be having a 9 hole golf tournament starting at 1:00 pm in the afternoon. This is open (and encouraged) for everyone, from pro to those that have never played. Everyone will have a chance to win the coveted AFNASH GOLD CLUB AWARD!
We will be using the Peoria scoring system, so EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF ABILITY, will have a chance to win. We will be playing at Buffalo Peak Golf Course in Union, just a short drive from Hot Lakes. List prices for 9 holes are 20 dollars, but as the time gets a little closer and I know how many are going to participate, I will try to get us a group discount. I will also have to arrange tee times, so please sign up here in this topic so I know approximately how many of you I need to plan for.
I personally will be playing 18 holes on Friday, starting the first 9 in the morning before the tournament begins. Anyone else that would like to add 9 holes, please let me know so I can arrange for that as well. Would be great to have a little pre-tournament warm-up and lunch with members of the group, just let me know.
PLEASE CONTACT ME PERSONALLY OR POST YOUR RESPONSE HERE IN THIS TOPIC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO I CAN START MAKING THE NEEDED ARRANGEMENTS.
Thanks everyone, looking forward to seeing everyone at the rally!

Hi Shotgun,
I plan to bring my clubs for the tournament and will probably do that front nine as well.

Shotgun.... Pretty sure we will do 18 as well. I know the last couple of years we got a pretty good deal from Hot Lakes to play there....Two fer one, or discount, not sure.

OK Folks, here is what I have signed up so far, and what how many holes they want to play. If this is not correct, please let me know ASAP so I can make sure we have enough tee times at the course.
Shotgun - 1 person - 18 holes
Dutch & Diana Irrgang - 2 people - 18 holes
Gus - 1 person - 18 holes
Jayboy - 2 people - 18 holes
Dutch - 1 person - 18 holes
Kuma - 1 person - 18 holes
Adam - 2 people - 9 holes
Bob & Sandie Bow - 2 persons - 9 holes
For those of us playing 18 holes, we will play the back nine first, starting tee time is 9:00 am. That gives us time to play, have a relaxed lunch, and be ready to go again at 1:00 pm with the actual tournament. I have 2 tee times for the 18 holers at this time which is full, but if more want to play I will reserve a third tee time.
At 1:00 pm I have 4 tee times reserved, so we have room for 4 more players as only 12 have signed up so far. If more are needed I will reserve another tee time as well.
I am looking forward to a great day on the links, can't wait to donate a few stray balls to the golf gods.....

Shotgun, go ahead, sign me up for 18 too... if you dare!
I've been out slapping golf balls around the campsite for a couple weeks now and most of the stiffness is finally gone... Haven't played a real round yet (will try that in Seaside next week - by myself)! But what the heck... 18'll work!
I still don't have any idea where the golf balls going after I hit it (if I actually do hit it), so to keep OSHA complaints to a minimun, pair we with folks who are agile, and can move out of the way quickly if it becomes necessary

Well I was just checking out Buffalo Peak golf course website and found this page on their site that gives you tips on how to play each hole. Don't click on the link if you don't want to know! Me, I am committing it to memory as I need every advantage I can get! Of course I will have forgotten it all by the end of the day.........

This is assuming one plays the way the game is intended to be played. Now anyone can play like that, with control and placement, but it takes real talent to play the way I play..... Out of the rough, weeds, trees, dirt, water etc...

This is a duplicate of a post from another topic. I feel important that all are for warned.
Just as a warning to all. Jill told me that Tom likes to go commando when he wears his kilt. He allways wears his kilt when he plays golf. You do not want to be looking the wrong direction when he bends over to retreave his ball.
