We're Steve and Cindy from Spokane and we just purchased a new 30U on Saturday, the 6th and will pick it up on the 13th.  We're really excited to get it out on the road as we have previously taken RV vacations in rented Class C rigs.  It's exciting to think about the possibilities with our own RV.  The 30U we purchased does have dual-pane windows and we had one dealer tell us that the reason their manufacturer used single pane windows is because the dual-pane windows lose their seal after bouncing down the road after a while. I thought it was down-selling the double pane but wanted to ask some of the experts here who are also owners of dual-pane windows. Other than that, we can't wait to get out on the road!

Welcome to the forum!  We know you will have many questions for the members about your new trailer and we're here for you.  To make is easier, both on the asker and answerer, please complete a signature line.  Go into "My Account" on the far left side of any main forum page, then "Profile."  Scroll to the bottom and you will find the signature block.  Add at least the year and model of your truck and trailer--then you don't have to repeat it in later posts.  I'm certain you will enjoy that beautiful 30U!  :D

:)Congrads on your new purchase!

I would first state that I imagine not all dual pane windows are not created equally and products normally improve with time but bad press quite often is hard to kill(the rumor mill keeps bring up old issues even after they no longer apply) and is quite often generally applied.   With that I have the dual pane windows in my 07AF31W and have bounced this unit around on many, many forest service roads for many miles with no problem to-date. (knocking on wood);)

You will love your 30U.  We have spent weeks in ours and it's like home.  Best mattress and couch out there.  Very comfortable.  Make sure you get a really, really good hitch set-up and your tow vehicle can handle the weight.  It is a heavy beast.  Minimum of 1350 lb tongue weight.  Be careful about the door knobs when you pull the slides end.  We replaced ours with knobs that didn't stick out as far.  Congrats!!

What doorknobs did you have to replace? How did the slides interfere? Thanx for the good advice :)

We just ordered ours yesterday and it is being built this month.  I hope you enjoy your new rig as much as we think we will enjoy ours!!!  We also got the thermal (double) pane.  From everything I have read here it is well worth the extra cost and weight, especially in cold or hot weather.

I have the 29V and during towing Kitchen drawers and nightstand drawers can come open.  If you don't catch that, when you put out the slides you can snag the knobs.  I've done this twice, once on the night stand and once on the pantry.  But no more.  I now carry a roll of duct tape & tape the offending moving parts closed.  Also tape the fridge doors.

Thank you Adam....I figured it was negative selling tactics at the other dealership.
