Well for quite some time now I have been having a problem with this intermittenly. I went to WowClassic site and looked through there support forum and found the below post....so I guess I am not the only one!
Things have been running just wonderfully at my forum. This is a problem posted by a member that I don't know what to do about. Here's her post:
I don't know where else to put this...
I've encountered a problem with the PMs. When I go to reply to a PM, it gives me a white screen. Then I am unable to get into this site - to even see it (a white screen shows up) - until I clear my private data.
Here's the next post in line:
What do you mean by clearing private data? White screen 'usually' means you have too many applications running at one time. Close something, clean your browser cache, upgrade your hard drive or install more memory.
At the top of the page on the tool bar, there is a refresh button. Sometimes refreshing the page will do the trick too.
"Refresh" appears as a sheet of paper with green arrows chasing each other.
Apparently she tried the above steps and it did not help. Here is her next post:
Clear private data = In Firefox:
Tools > Options > Privacy > Clear Now > Clear Cache, Cookies, Offline Website Data
My husband actually discovered that one, as he encountered the same problem on his computer. Can beebop around the site until you try to reply to a PM. I also tried my laptop and had the same problem, so it wasn't a matter of my computer being too busy.
And once I get one white screen, I soon get a white screen any way I try to view the site.
I'm fine with my account being deleted and reregistering, if that's what it comes to.
Let me know what I should do about this.
I did not see any fix posted yet but did request if there was any new info on this problem. They offered a temp fix which I have posted below.
It's a problem that has a fix being worked on. The temporary solution is to delete the PM and then superzap the delete folder.
Hopfully this post will help if anyone else is having the same problem as me.

Adam,
I must have hit PM accidentally when I tried to reply to your post. Since I wasn't thrown off the site the problem must have been fixed already. Sorry to bother you twice.
No need to reply.

The problem comes and goes at its own will and apparently does not affect everyone but no its not fixed as of yet.

| Ok Shotgun has applied a fix given to me from the software company. Let me know if anyone has any more problems with the white screen.

Adam, I just had this problem the first time today (but I don't get many PMs). I read a PM to me and as soon as I hit reply I got a white screen and from there on every place I tried to go in the forum was just a white screen. This was using the Chrome browser. I switched to Firefox and got to the same place (hit reply) and then again nothing but white screens. I had to delete the cookie to get back in on either browser and never was able to reply to the PM. While I can't reply to a PM I am able to work around the problem by sending a new PM to the person I was trying to reply to.Last edited on Sun Jun 14th, 2009 01:05 by Nash5r

Can't Reply Syndrome ?
I'm sure that is what I meant... Pretty creative
I'm still having problems. Three of 4 pc's at this desk show a white screen. I have tried clearing temp files, cookies, cache... no positive results. Help... CRS is getting worse.
I had a PM from Adam early last week and no problem. One from AFCats this week and the problem developed.. Replying from a different pc and the problem does not replicate here. IE8 on all 4 pc's.

| Adam... Shotgun, I'm using my sons pc. After this evening, I will no longer have access to this forum. All I get from my own pc or laptop is a white screen. You both have my email so if you find a fix, please let me know. Have fun at the Rally. Last edited on Mon Jun 15th, 2009 04:10 by bobnelson

I am having the same problem. It only happens after checking on private messages. Then when I return to the forum it is a white screen.
If I go in and do a "Delete All" in the delete browser history including cookies and history, then the forum comes back fine. Not sure what this is, will look into it....

| A little more investigating, this only happens to me with the latest PM's. Anything over 1 week old does not seem to affect the problem. I will look into the server time settings and the cookie setting for time stamps and see if I can find anything tonight....

Shotgun -- with me I was able to check on PMs and send new PMs with no problems. It only happened after each time I would "attempt" to reply. As soon as I hit the reply button everything went white and stayed white everywhere on the forum until I deleted all cookies. Don't know if that will help but thought I'd clarify all of the facts I have!

Shotgun,
I started having this problem a couple of days ago, the clear all files in the temporary internet files directory clears it untill I try to reply to a PM.
Thanks,
Ed Houston (housted)

| I am working on this one, but so far no fix. I finally have a PM that does this to me, so I now have something to work with...

So I have been working on this one, not quite sure what the problem is yet. When I look at the database there is some interesting stuff occuring with these problem PM's. I am not sure what is causing it. Hang in there folks, in the meantime....
Just delete all your browser memory including cookies and you will get back into the forum.
P.S. As a person now watching calories, deleting cookies does not seem as bad as it used too.....
