I recently got a new HD Flatscreen TV with swingout arm for the camper. I thought I could put the current TV cabinet to better use, so I mounted the new TV and swingarm to the outside of the cabinet, enabling the use of the inside of the cabinet for much needed cabinet space inside the camper. This first picture is of the cabinet before changing the door swing.

Door swing changed

With the new shelf added. These campers definately need the additional storage space.

TV and swingarm mounted to the outside of the cabinet. This is bolted through to the inside. In the previous picture, you can just see where the bolts come through.

These next 2 pictures show it in the travel position. I also installed a strap with footmans loops to secure it while traveling. The second picture has 2 small hooks I installed to be used as a place to hang my keys while in the camper.

And the finished product with the TV turned around to view from the dinette.

Having the extra cabinet space is going to be really nice. We never seemed to have enough room for everything in the other two overhead cabinets. Plus having a slightly larger Flatscreen TV with DVD doesn't hurt either.

| Really a nice job on the cabinet mod...you're right, these units can certainly use whatever added storage space one can come up with. So, you feel pretty comfortable with the method of securing this TV in the travel mode? I had a Starcraft with a similar setup for the TV and it carried a warning to Remove TV prior to travel..I think it could have been secured but didn't want to take the chance, so, I removed it each time the camper headed down the road. Anyway, very nice job. \Marty

Nice Job. I did the same thing but added some additional bracing because I was concerned with the screws pulling out while bouncing down the road......probably overkill on my part.

I've only got to watch the TV (19")for a brief period of time but it is much nicer than the 15" TV I had before. It and the swingarm were purchased at Best Buy, I believe it is on sale right now.

Thank you. I have a 15 in T.V. without the built in DVD. The tv is not HD, so it might be time to up grade . I like the wall mount.

Here is another bracket. I like this one because it locks the arm for travel.

I kept the swing up door as I leave it open because of the heat generated by the satellite/DVR receiver. Also, I keep my PC printer in there and link to it via a Bluetooth network.

This is what Northwood is doing on the new campers that I saw at the show in Puyallup this weekend.

| I am looking for the adjustable shelf brackets that are used in the 2008 and 2009 990 models with the lcd tv mounted as you have done. Google search only shows traditional style brackets, these were made with plastic pawls or dogs to make the shelf instantly adjustable. Much easier than moving shelf brackets and matching holes.

Try Home Depot for the peg type shelf supports.

| I can get the peg style brackets anywhere, I want the ones shown in the new 990's, the shelf is very easily adjustable without counting slots or holes and it will not fall out with vibration. Local dealer has a set on order. They can't be found elsewhere.
