Need some guidance from the electricians on the Forum. Have purchased this unit and am now trying to figure out where the best place is to install it. Dave at Northwoods is faxing me a wireing diagram of the 30U. Dave said that the 120v system is GFI protected, but he has no suggestions as to where to mount a surge protector. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance Charles

I removed the panel behind/ next to the commode. That's where my shore power cord enters the trailer and is also the access point for the outside shower plumbing. Lot's of space for the surge unit. Mine is a 50 amp unit and the P/O had changed the factory equipment to a Maranco twist lock. (Also a good hiding place if you cut the screws off flush and re-attach the panel with spring cabinet catches.)

Falconman:

Thank you for the reply. I was looking at the same compartment. Now just have to figure out how to remove the front panel, without destroying it. Will check it out in the morning. Good idea on how to reattach the panel once removed, easy access.
