This LED came along after trying a few things that never were quite the right style LED for interior usage.

It's rated at 252 Lumens (that's the amount of light it gives off)

A typical 1141 incandescent bulb is about 255 Lumens.

The difference in brightness is so minuscule, that you can't even notice it.

Color temp is not the typical "blue hue" given of by "pure white" LEDs.  This has a more "eye pleasing" warm white color temperature.

Many of the Arctic Fox / Nash and Desert Fox RVs use the standard 1 or 2 bulb fixture made by Progressive Dynamics that has the slider switch either in the middle (on 2 bulb fixtures) or on the end for 1 bulb fixtures.

Truth be known that many RV owners like to dry camp.  Switch some of the interior lights to LED and you will enjoy the peace and quiet and fuel savings through less generator run time to charge batteries, IF you have a gen, or be less frugal with energy usage in general, if you have solar....  or even if you have neither, you can be assured of having more battery power available for other things that need power.

LEDs don't get dimmer as battery voltage decreases light incandescent lights do.
They don't have a "warm up time" like fluorescents do in colder interior temps.

This happens to be one of those products that we've found an alternate source for and have been able to lower the price some over the last few weeks.

Somewhere around here on the forum there used to be a thread that showed this light.  I remember seeing it because a few people came to my website from that page, at least according to the web server stats.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

By the way, I test all of the interior lights I sell....  I won't sell something I won't use in my own AF.

If it doesn't meet my high standards, then it goes in my garage sale bin.

Yes, the garage sale bin has quite a few "test lights" in it that failed to pass the expectations.

During the time I've been running the show, there's been plenty of research on various LEDs, and some have ended up in the scrap heap or garage sale bin.  :dude:

I'm also exploring a few things to replace the fluorescent lights too.

It appears from the pic this is a dx for the 1141, is that correct?  Do you happen to know the actual color temp?  Can they be purchased qty 1?

Is there an LED dx for the 1157?

Thanks.

Direct replacement for 1141, see mine down in post #7:

http://www.afnash.com/forum/forum33/8631.html

Color temp is very similar to incandescent, as seen in pic.

hope that helps.

Do you think you will carry a 906 LED type bulb in the near future?

Still looking for the right style.

What type of fixtures are these used in?  (pics would be helpful)

So far everything I have found, only shoots light out the end, which I don't think is what we need - I reckon we need something that does 360 light pattern.... but that all depends on teh fixture it goes in.

LED 1157 - are you looking for red or white?

yes, 1141WW is a direct exchange for the 1141 incandescent used in the inside lights, and outside lights.

1141WW has a reported color temp of 3150k.

Gotcha... thanks for the pic.  Someone else here upgraded to a newer style light, and it  might have been identical to the ones above, and sent me some pics.... but I can't remember what style bulbs his used.

On the wooden lights,  a friend's AF 860 camper has them, so I can try a few styles of LEDs in them and see what works.

:)

Up until tonight, I wasn't aware that the 906 used the same size push in base as the little bulbs, such as an automotive style 194 - but I see that they are all a T10 style base.

Thanks.

There is an 1157 red of a different style LED available, this one:

http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/stt/stt_1157.htm

Within about another 6 weeks, there should be a SMD LED style LED 1157 available, but I haven't seen it yet, nor do I know what the pricing will be.

the 1141WW is available individually (qty 1 + $3.50 shipping for 1-9, then the shipping jumps  for qty 10+)

The new lights I think use 1156 bayonet style.

Everything I have found so far, shows the 906 bulb to be about 75 lumens.

I have found an LED that would appear to be just the ticket - and it says it's 75 Lumens also.  I will try to get them in next week for testing.

Please let me know (send me an IM) if you find a good LED replacement for the bulb that Rallen is talking about. I assume that's the small bulb with the two "male" plugs sticking out. I too have the OEM wood lamps and would like to try some alternatives.

Keep us posted. I want to try them, 906's, and replace some 1156's.

Thank you for your efforts.

I spent a good hour at the local AF dealer today poking my head in just about every model they had on the lot - which was somewhere close to 15!

Most of the new ones have the little flood light style reading light in the pic above.  They generally had them at each end of the sofa,  and on each side of the bed.

The fixture is dark in color and the inside of the bulb housing is dark too, so I don't think it will work well as a "reflector" for anything but a flood style light.

The bulb they use is a 1383 single contact base, flood style.  The bulb looks like this:

It's a mini flood light like you'd see in a recessed can light fixture in a house.

Several Nash models still had the oak reading lights, which use the push in style 906 bulb.

I also spotted a "wall sconce" light, generally it was between the sofa and dinette on bigger models, it too used a push in style bulb.  The label in the fixture called for a 921/912 bulb.

And then there was also a "ceiling mounted light" above the dinette / table on bigger models.  Some used a push in bulb (921) and some used a bayonet based bulb - I'm assuming it was a 1141.

I think I have a good idea now what bulbs will be needed for just about every style light fixture.

While you're looking at bulb styles and base styles, do you have any LED replacements for the 1076 bulb.  This type has a bayonet shell with dual contacts, a single filament and no connection to the outer shell.  This bulb is used 6 places in my rig, 4 reading lamps and 2 bulbs in a wall mounted sconce.  They run HOT and seem to have a very short life.

On edit: Added link to an on-line bulb source.

Thanks for the heads up on where those dual contact base bulbs are used.  I KNEW I saw some yesterday, but but the time I got home and started typing, I forgot which fixtures I saw them in.

I do have a few options for dual contact bulbs.

I also went to Camping World today and they have an assortment of fixtures by Gustafson Lighting - none of which are on Gustafson's website.
I called Gustafson and they said the site is undergoing "updates' which is why everything doesn't show up yet.

I really liked the reading light they have - same as what a member here upgraded his AF with, and sent me pictures of them, which is pretty much the same fixture in teh pic above, using the 1383 "brush burner" flood light!!

OK, so what are your options for the dual contact bulbs?

While I do want to try LED's, they cost enough by themselves so I'm not interested in replacing fixtures just to use LED's.  Are there replacement sockets?

There is a dual contact LED that's identical to the 1141ww LED I already have, only it has a dual contact base - the BA15d base.

I remember now that it was one of the 5th wheels that had the dual contact bulb equipped reading light - which is identical to the one in my truck camper, I have two of the dual contact bulbs in my reading lights - I didn't initially remember that those were dual contact, until thinking about it later today.

Those were the only two of those style bulbs I ordered, and it was mid December I think.

I will be placing another order tomorrow and will order qty 10 of the dual contact base bulb.

If you get those in as 'warm white' I would like to try a couple.

Thanks for the info  :).
